Lovett will appear at the 2012 Songwriters Hall of Fame induction and awards dinner set for June 14 in New York City.
Others scheduled to present awards or perform include Stevie Nicks, Meat Loaf, Take 6 and the Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl. As
previously announced, this year's Hall of Fame inductees include Gordon Lightfoot, Bob Seger, Don Schlitz, Jim Steinman and
the team of Harvey Schmidt and Tom Jones. The Sammy Cahn Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to Bette Midler, with
Ne-Yo receiving the Hal David Starlight Award. The first-ever Pioneer Award will be posthumously awarded to singer-songwriter
Woody Guthrie, whose compositions include "This Land Is Your Land." Additionally, "Stand by Me" is this year's Towering Song,
with co-writer Ben E. King being honored with the Towering Performance Award.
