George Jones
George Jones declined all bids for his property near Franklin, Tenn., at a public auction
on Saturday (July 7). Troy Mizell, a resident of nearby Spring Hill, Tenn., offered $660,000 for two of the available five
parcels of land, totaling 43 acres of the 78-acre property, according to
The Tennessean newspaper. Those bids, as well
as the offers on two additional parcels by other bidders, were declined. Jones' home did not sell either because the opening
price of $1.5 million was not met. Jones had asked $10 million for the full property last year before deciding on an auction
sale.
