Lee Ann Womack
Lee Ann Womack has parted ways with MCA Nashville, her longtime record label. Originally
signed to the Universal Music Group's Decca imprint, the Texan gained critical acclaim in 1997 with her debut single, "Never
Again, Again" and reached No. 2 later that year on
Billboard's country songs chart with "The Fool." In 2000, she moved
to MCA Nashville, another UMG label, for
I Hope You Dance, an album that sold more than 3 million copies. The title
track spent five weeks at No. 1 on the country chart in 2000. She and
Willie Nelson
won a Grammy and a CMA award for their vocal collaboration on the 2002 single,
"Mendocino
County Line." Womack has released seven albums, including a holiday project. Her most recent album,
Call Me Crazy,
was released in 2008.
