Kenny Chesney and
Tim McGraw wrapped up their Brothers
of the Sun tour with two sold-out shows Friday and Saturday (Aug. 24-25) at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Mass. A total of
111,209 tickets were sold for the concerts near Boston which ended a 22-city tour that began June 2 in Tampa, Fla. The
Boston
Herald newspaper reports that Foxboro police arrested 101 during the two concerts on a variety of charges, including disorderly
conduct, resisting arrest, trespassing, assault and battery and assault and battery on a police officer. Another 466 were
placed into protective custody because of alcohol intoxication. "It's unfortunate, you know?" Foxboro Selectman Mark Sullivan
told the newspaper. "It's just the way these young adults are today. They're just crazy." Accentuating the positive, Gillette
Stadium spokesman Jeff Cournoyer noted, "Well over 99 percent of them had a safe and enjoyable experience thanks to the combined
efforts of stadium security, local police and state police."
