Gary Allan
will release a new album,
Set You Free, in early 2013, he told reporters
at an album preview party on Wednesday afternoon (Sept. 19) in Nashville. The album title comes from a lyric in Allan's new
single, "Every Storm (Runs Out of Rain)." He co-wrote the song with Matt Warren and Hillary Lindsey. Allan's prior release,
Get Off on the Pain, was released in 2010. However, that album did not spawn any Top 10 hits. Allan told reporters
he decided to wait on releasing a new album until there was an executive change at his longtime record label, MCA Nashville.
That change occurred in May when Mike Dungan took over the label, which is part of the Universal Music Group.
