Dierks Bentley joined
Luke Bryan onstage during
the fifth annual Capitol Street Party on Wednesday night (Oct. 17), playing the free concert for a crowd on Nashville's historic
Lower Broadway. The surprise pairing happened about halfway through Bryan's headlining set with Bentley suggesting a cover
of
Brooks & Dunn's
"My
Next Broken Heart." The event, attracting a crowd that filled two city blocks, moved this year from its former home on
Demonbreun Street near Music Row to the downtown location. Noting he had performed during the first-ever Capitol Street Party
back in 2007, Bryan said, "I think I'm more nervous now." He performed a full set of his hits like
"Do
I," "All My Friends Say" and
"Drunk
on You" plus an assortment of pop medleys and album cuts. Capitol Nashville labelmates
Kelleigh
Bannen and
Jon Pardi kicked off the show which ended in spectacular fashion
with confetti cannons, laser lights and a fireworks display.
