in one week,
Billboard has reported, citing figures from Nielsen Soundscan. Swift partnered with numerous corporations
to promote the album, including Keds, Papa John's, Target and Walgreens. The report noted 465,000 copies of
Red were
sold through iTunes, while Target sold 396,000 copies (including their exclusive deluxe edition with bonus tracks). The debut
marks the highest first-week sales for an artist since 2002, when Eminem's
The Eminem Show sold more than 1.3 million
albums in its first full week. Swift's 2010 album,
Speak Now, sold just over 1 million albums in its first week.
