' 1963 recording of "Act Naturally" is among the latest inductees in the Grammy
Hall of Fame. In an announcement Wednesday (Nov. 21), the Recording Academy announced 27 new Hall of Fame additions in a variety
of musical genres. Other country and folk-related titles include
Foggy Mountain Banjo, a 1961 album by
Lester
Flatt and
Earl Scruggs and their band, the Foggy Mountain Boys, along with Ernest
V. "Pop" Stoneman's 1924 recording of "The Titanic." The additions also include Bob Dylan's "The Times They Are A-Changin'"
(1964), W.H. Stepp's "Bonaparte's Retreat" (1937) and Cajun music pioneer Joe Falcon's "Allons a Lafayette" (1928). While
not a country recording, "Near You," by Francis Craig and His Orchestra was the nation's biggest pop hit of 1947. Recorded
in Nashville, it's regarded as one of the most significant sessions in the city's history.
