If I were to tell you Grace Potter was performing as part of a year-end celebration, you would probably envision her energy-fueled rock shows with her band, the Nocturnals. But CMT has a special treat for fans that will allow them to see her unlike ever before. The Big & Best of 2012: A Year End Celebration Presented by T-Mobile is an eight-hour live stream event that kicks off on 12/12/12 at 12 p.m. ET and will include a special stripped-down Live @ CMT performance by Potter.
The solo acoustic show spotlights Potter accompanied only by her piano, singing some of her more intimate ballads in the CMT studio. Such a sparse performance highlights her poignant lyrics and reveals instrumental talents which might have gone unnoticed when she and her band opened stadium concerts earlier this year during Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw's Brothers of the Sun tour.
We all knew she could rock and hold her own in the male-dominated world of electric guitars. But when performers take themselves out of the huge venues, put away the amps and the spectacle and stand in front of a crowd with just their music, that's when you see real artistry. Potter's Live @ CMT is sure to be one of the most memorable moments during the live stream event.
