Nine artists have been announced as nominees for the Academy of Country Music's new artist of the year. The winners in the
categories of new male vocalist, new female vocalist and new vocal duo or group will automatically become eligible for the
new artist award.
Jana Kramer,
Kacey
Musgraves and
Sunny Sweeney are nominated for new female vocalist,
while
Lee Brice,
Brantley
Gilbert and
Hunter Hayes will vie for new male vocalist.
Florida
Georgia Line,
Love and Theft and
Thompson
Square are up for new vocal duo or group. The winners in the individual categories will be announced in February. The
ACM Awards will take place April 7 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
