
John Denver
A tribute album to singer-songwriter
John Denver will be released on
April 2 by ATO Records. The project includes new recordings from
Brandi
Carlile and
Emmylou Harris ("Take Me Home, Country Roads"),
Old Crow Medicine Show ("Back Home Again") and Train ("Sunshine
on My Shoulders"), among many others. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Wilderness Society. In addition to
"Back Home Again," Denver's No. 1 country hits include "Thank God I'm a Country Boy" and "I'm Sorry." Denver, the CMA's entertainer
of the year in 1975, died in a plane crash in 1997.
