Toby Keith's longtime bandleader, Carl Reber "Chuck" Goff Jr., died Wednesday
night (Feb. 27) in a two-vehicle collision in Noble, Okla., a community located approximately 30 miles south of Oklahoma City.
Law officers are still investigating the accident. Goff and the other driver, who was not injured, were traveling alone at
the time of the accident. Goff, 54, co-wrote Keith's Top 10 hits "You Ain't Much Fun" and "Upstairs Downtown." In a statement
on his website, Keith wrote, "We are deeply saddened by the sudden death of our bandmember, Chuck Goff. He was a close friend
for over 25 years, the bandleader and bass player. Our hearts and prayers go out to his family." Keith and his band performed
Monday at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. The tour resumes April 13 at the Country Thunder festival in Florence, Ariz.
