Shooter Jennings
Shooter Jennings' new album
The Other Life leads the list
of country-oriented albums released Tuesday (March 12).
Patty Griffin,
Scott H. Biram and Black Oak Arkansas frontman Jim "Dandy" Mangrum make guest appearances on the project issued by Entertainment
One Music. Jennings also produced Kentucky-based rock band Fifth on the Floor's
Ashes & Angels, also released Tuesday
by Entertainment One. For bluegrass fans, Junior Sisk & Ramblers Choice return with
The Story of the Day That I Died
(Rebel Records), and two of the genre's most respected musicians -- Alan Bibey and Wayne Benson team up for
Mandolin Chronicles
(Pinecastle Records). Earlier this year, Sisk and his band received album of the year honors from the Society for the Preservation
of Bluegrass Music Association for their previous project,
The Heart of a Song. In addition to Sisk's nod as the organization's
contemporary male vocalist of the year, the band's "A Far Cry From Lester and Earl" was named song of the year.
