Josh Turner will perform a prerace concert before the 29th annual NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race on Saturday (May 18) at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Fans will fill the infield to hear the Hannah, S.C., native during the concert which was originally scheduled to feature Billy Currington. Turner was enlisted to headline the concert after a grand jury indicted Currington on charges of making terroristic threats and elder abuse in connection with a disagreement with a charter boat captain near the singer's home on Tybee Island, Ga., in April. "Due to Currington's recent indictment, we elected to change our act for the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race," Charlotte Motor Speedway president and general manager Marcus Smith said in a press release. "Josh Turner is a native of the Carolinas with six No. 1 hits to his credit, and we know he'll put on a fantastic show for our fans and sponsors on race weekend."
