CMT Giants: Reba features performances by Faith Hill, Trisha Yearwood, Kelly Clarkson, Martina McBride, Jennifer Nettles, LeAnn Rimes, Megan Mullally, Wynonna and Dolly Parton who each paid tribute to Reba by lending their voices to her biggest hits. Reba's family sat front row and center with the honoree as the tribute touched on all points of her illustrious career, from performances of her early hits, including "How Blue" by Parton and "Whoever's In New England" by McBride to the memorable "The Night the Lights Went Out In Georgia" performed by Nettles and classic woeful duet, "Does He Love You," performed by McBride and Clarkson. James Denton, Dakota Fanning, Andie MacDowell, Beau Bridges, Barbara Mandrell, Melissa Peterman and Christopher Rich took to the stage between performances to recount notable highlights in Reba's career. Finally, the honoree herself brought the crowd to its feet with a show-stopping rendition of her 1991 hit "Fancy."
A segment of the special focuses on Habitat for Humanity, a partner of CMT's pro-social initiative, CMT One Country and important cause for Reba. After the taping, Reba and CMT presented the Nashville area Habitat for Humanity a check for $54,000, the amount necessary to completely build one Habitat home for a deserving family, on behalf of CMT One Country. The proceeds for this donation came from ticket sales from the CMT Giants: Reba concert taping. CMT One Country was launched in the fall of 2005 to promote civic participation and inspire CMT viewers to take action and bring about important change in their communities; Habitat for Humanity is a partner of CMT One Country.
In CMT Giants, Reba is honored for her illustrious career, which includes 33 No. 1 hits, 29 albums, 15 American Music Awards, 12 Academy of Country Music Awards, seven Country Music Association Awards, two Grammy's and the CMT Johnny Cash Visionary Award.
