Thanksgiving Dinner:

TURKEY
My son and assistand, Billy, fried a turkey in a turkey cooker using peanut oil. Michael McCall, my makeup and hair stylist, helped Billy with the lifting and frying. This method of cooking turkey leaves the meat juicy and tender.

PARTY POTATOES
8 medium potatoes, peeled and sliced
1/2 stick butter
1 cup sour cream, room temp.
8 oz. cream cheese, room temp.
1/3 cup finely chopped onions
1 t salt
1 t pepper
Boil potatoes covered in water in a pot until fork tender.
Beat sour cream and cream cheese together. Add to hot potatoes and beat until smooth. Add butter, onions, salt and pepper. Pour into a well-buttered casserole. Dot with butter. Sprinkle with paprika. Bake at 350 for 25 minutes.

GREEN BEANS
2 pounds green beans
water to cover
fist size salt pork
1/2 t salt
1 t sugar
2 T butter
Remove strings from beans. Discard defective beans. Wash and put in a pot. Cover with water. Place a fist size salt pork in the beans. Cook fast for a few minutes. Reduce heat and simmer for an hour. Add sugar, salt and butter. Stir and taste. Do not add salt until after you taste. Salt pork makes the beans salty.

SWEET POTATOES
3 cups cooked sweet potatoes
1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs well beaten
1 t vanilla
1/3 cup milk (or more)
Beat ingredients together until well blended. Place in a 2 quart casserole.
Topping
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup flour
1/3 cup butter
1/2 cup chopped pecans
3/4 cup coconut.
Mix ingredients and sprinkle over top of sweet potatoes.
Bake at 350 for 25 minutes

HERSHEY'S KISSES CAKE

Cake
1 box German chocolate cake mix
1 small box instant chocolate pudding mix
3 eggs, beaten
1 1/2 cups milk
1 cup oil
Beat ingredients for 2 minutes until well blended. Pour into three greased and floured cake pans. Bake at 325 for 20 - 25 minutes.
Cool before frosting cake.

Frosting
1 (8 oz.) cream cheese, room temp.
1 cup confectioners sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 (9 oz) Cool Whip, thawed
1/2 cup finely chopped pecans
1/2 bag Hershey's Kisses, chopped fine
Mix sugars and cream cheese. Add Cool Whip and nuts. Mix well.
Frost tops and sides of three layers. Top cake with kisses. Stand up whole kisses all around top of cake.
