If You Had to Choose

Americans are facing tough choices everyday that result in hunger. Watch and learn the numbers behind hunger.

Hunger at Home

David, a single father, wouldn't know what to do without help from his local food pantry. Read about his story and others who were helped by Feeding America.

Mobile Pantry Program

Distributing over 900,000 pounds of food annually, this program allows food banks to reach outlying areas.

Take Action

Ask your members of Congress to visit a food bank. Encourage them to see for themselves what hunger looks like in their own community.

Feeding America

Formerly America's Second Harvest, Feeding America is the nation's largest charitable hunger-relief organization, securing and distributing nearly 2 billion pounds of donated food and grocery products annually through a network of 200 food banks and food-rescue organizations.

Each year, Feeding America's food bank network provides food assistance to more than 25 million low-income hungry people in the United States, including more than 9 million children and nearly 3 million seniors.

There are many different ways to volunteer. Help out in your local community by:

  • Mentoring at your local Kids Café, which provides meals, recreational and social activities to low-income children
  • Repackaging donated food for use at food pantries
  • Transporting food to charitable agencies
