  1. Apprentice Steele met Stacy when he was just 10 years old, through his mom Dawn who worked at Stacy's local hangout in the canyon. He always admired Stacy's work and kept in touch with him through the years. After high school, Steele worked odd jobs at a hardware store, bakery and for an electrician but started to apprentice for Stacy because he loves "working with friends." He continues, "It doesn't feel like work. It's where I grew up and I always feel in my element." What he doesn't love is "being at the bottom of the food chain and always at everyone's beck and call." The guys think Steele's a "mama's boy," and he cops to it. "My parents divorced when I was 1, and I have been with my mom ever since. We have a great relationship. She doesn't snap at me like other mothers but is very reasonable and we see eye to eye." Steele says his carving skills are getting better all the time. He loves chainsaw carving because "it uses tools that aren't originally made for art. I also like that we are recycling everything, too." In addition to working at Deadwood, Steele's loves include hip-hop, girls, dirt bikes, tattoos and energy drinks.
