About Episode

  1. The destruction and devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina has affected the lives of millions. In an effort to raise funds for relief efforts, CMT, MTV and VH1 will team up for a special benefit concert to air live on all three networks. ReAct Now: Music & Relief will feature performances from artists in all musical genres, including Alan Jackson, Kid Rock, Sheryl Crow, Lynyrd Skynyrd, the Rolling Stones, Neil Young, Paul McCartney and many more. CMT Insider will go behind the scenes as CMT prepares for the Nashville portion of the show. In addition to the ReAct Now: Music & Relief benefit, many country stars have pledged their support for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. We'll touch base with many artists who share their thoughts and find out how they will be pitching in the relief efforts. On a lighter note, the nominees for this year's CMA awards will be announced Wednesday, Sept. 7, live on CMT. Keith Urban and Lee Ann Womack will make the announcement from New York City, the location of this year's awards show. We'll be on the scene and have a complete rundown of the nominees. We'll also catch up with some of the top nominees to get their reactions. Also on tap for this episode: we'll visit with country star Trisha Yearwood about her latest CD, Jasper County; and have the scoop about superstar Toby Keith's two new record labels he has opened on Music Row.
