Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders

Kelli McGonagill Finglass, Director
Kelli McGonagill Finglass is a former cheerleader and, in Dallas, a celebrity in her own right. Smartly coiffed and mother of two, she lives and breathes the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders and will go to any length to preserve the integrity of the organization. The girls look up to her as an ideal. McGonagill Finglass personifies Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders' professionalism and etiquette and has razor-sharp opinions on who should make the team. Ultimately, she has the final decision and fights her own emotional investment when making a cut.

Judy Trammel, Choreographer
Judy Trammel cheered for four years before she was named assistant choreographer. Assuming her current role as choreographer in 1991, she has succeeded in blending the performance traditions of the organization with the latest trends in music and dance. Her relationship with the members of the squad as both a teacher and trainer is based on high expectations buffered by her understanding nature. Her talents are displayed every time the cheerleaders perform, from the elaborate choreography and costumed productions of the Show Group, to sideline routines and halftime extravaganzas featuring hundreds of cast members.

Jay Johnson, Fitness Instructor
No one is born with a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders body. It takes hard work, and Jay Johnson can help anyone make a commitment to fitness -- DCC style. A former Army drill sergeant, Johnson makes Lou Gossett Jr. (An Officer and a Gentleman) seem like a wimp. He is in charge of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders boot camp, which combines an intense schedule of strength, conditioning and attitude training -- all based on how the U.S. Army does it!

Misty Cleveland, Cheerleader
A Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders veteran, Misty Cleveland is going out for her fifth year. She risked the possibility of profound disappointment and actually held her wedding the day after callbacks. Many of the cheerleaders were her bridesmaids and guests. If she makes the team again, she will have to juggle her new role as wife and stepmom.

Shenythia Frazier, Cheerleader
This African-American vet has a lot at stake. After years of an ongoing roller coaster ride as a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader, Shenythia Frazier is trying out again. She made the squad, then lost her second year, then made her third year -- and is hoping for a fourth. Is that not enough pressure to endure? To put it lightly, she is a bundle of nerves trying to keep it together.

Deanna Hernandez, Cheerleader
This Texas communications student has a bond of steel with her mom. In fact, Deanna Hernandez never goes anywhere without her mom, who is always two steps behind. Her mom is lovingly supportive of her daughter's dream but not if it "interferes with her schoolwork." Can Hernandez succeed under the constant, watchful eye of her mom?

Jennifer Hill, Cheerleader
Corporate by day, cheerleader by night -- this African-American young woman is committed to her day job at JCPenney. But ever since Jennifer Hill was a small girl, she had one dream -- to become a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader. She fancies herself a throwback to the lead character in the film Flashdance. Her outlook on life is remarkably positive and when her name is called for first cut, she has one of the most spirited reactions. But does this optimistic wonder have the actual stamina to make it to the end?

Whitney Ott, Cheerleader
She's the classic girl next door but one who overcomes all obstacles in her path. A former Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader who left the team after admitting she had an eating disorder (which she successfully conquered), Whitney Ott then took time off to have a baby -- the adorable, cherub-faced Scout, whom her parents help her raise. Everyone is rooting for Ott to be a cheerleader again. Can she manage the demands of the DCC and be a single mom to Scout? She is determined to make it work and use her past struggles to inspire the squad.

Melissa Rutigliano, Cheerleader
This spunky no-nonsense Jersey girl, with her thick East Coast accent is the ultimate fish out of water in the land of "Y'all" and curling irons. Melissa Rutigliano is an unlikely candidate who will jump through hoops to make the team. She has her Jersey mom in tow, who is on an endless search to find her daughter temporary housing if she makes the team. Rutigliano works for the NFL in Jersey, but her love of dance and cheerleading has fueled her fire and taken her all the way to Dallas to fulfill a dream. Not your typical looking cheerleader.

Danielle Sanchez, Cheerleader
This rookie traveled all the way from New Mexico in hopes of making her jazz musician dad proud. Danielle Sanchez is the youngest of eight kids. Her twin sister died tragically, so she works extra hard to carry on with hope. The most important relationship in her life is with her dad who has been in Italy throughout the process, much to Sanchez's frustration. She continually tries to reach her dad overseas so she can share her progress. (Sanchez was cut from training camp.)

Emily Starr Spangler, Cheerleader
Starr Spangler actually added an Emily to the front of her name to stop the curious comments she was hearing in school. Proud of her American heritage, this hard-working, determined young woman is a freshman at Texas Christian University, studying special education. She attended high school in California and claims her family is extremely supportive of their Starr.
