Dempsey got his start in hit movies such as Can't Buy Me Love, Loverboy and Coupe de Ville. Other film roles include With Honors, Bloodknot, Outbreak, Scream 3, Sweet Home Alabama and The Emperors Club. Dempsey has also starred in the critically acclaimed television mini-series J.F.K: Reckless Youth and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. He has made several guest appearances on the hit TV show Once and Again and was nominated for an Emmy for his guest appearance on Will and Grace.
