On CMT: About the Series  

An historical and contemporary perspective of African Americans in country music. Are African Americans being deliberately shut out of the country music industry? Does the idea of seeing African American's perform bother country music audiences? Will fans of country not buy CDs if they know that the performers are African American? Why isn't country music marketed to the African American community? If white artists can succeed and be accepted in hip-hop, why can't African Americans do the same in country music? Do Music Row execs believe that country music is white music, created by white people for white people? When will African American artists in country get their chance to succeed on Music Row.and stop waiting in the wings?
