I cannot believe that Matt got sent home....WOW they lost a really great singer! I loved his voice and thought that he would have gone really far in the competition.
If this is a true country show, then Wynn Varble will be the winner!!!! He's more country singer than any of them young wipper snappers have in their little fingers. He not only sings country, but also writes country. Just google him and you'll see. He's written several great country songs sung by the likes of Darryl Worley's "Have you forgotten?" & Brad Paisley's "Waiting on a woman." Tell me that ain't country. On the Adrinne thing, when she brounght up the race thing is when I turned against her. At the CMA Musicfest lst year, I got my picture with the two black guys of country music. By the way, they are Darius Rucker & Charlie Pride. So I'm not prejudiced, but this is not a contest of race, it's music & I think both Ben & Matt were better singers..
Hi all. Im from Australia. Just thought i would throw in my 2 cents worth. Adrienna should have been sent home at the end of episode one. And She certainly did not do justice to American Honey, which is a beautiful song Sung by the talented and gorgeous Hillary Scott. In saying that Mat's performance certainly could have been better and his song choice was not so good either. I certainly believe that Adrienna has a great voice and I think that she can sing country songs, though she certainly has to be very selective because her voice does not naturally have the country sound. I must say that Courtney has a beautiful voice and great control to. I think Courtney is turning out to be the one to beat.
Sure am glad to see others outraged over Matts going home.!!!!! Bad call Matt could SING. At least he sang COUNTRY . PS The winner of the two was on American Idol didnt make through after Hollywood .
Oh My God! What is going on with Country Music and CMT? Matt was much better than Adrienna! I feel a fix in the air! What a way to lose viewers CMT! Is this show about talent or not? Please let us know now so we can quit waisting our time if you already know who is going to win. Why not let the fans have a say so in the outcome? I know it's not a perfect way to decide things but we do buy the music and subscribe to the network. You might as well bring Taylor Swift in to judge. She's not country either in my opinion! Maybe someday Matt will open for Trace or Trace said, maybe someday he will be opening for Matt!
Makes me wonder if you judges know what you are doing??? Is it a black thing??? Matt has a great voice it really upset me that Matt was sent home, just because he didnt go for the high note in the Ronnie Milsap song that doesnt mean he cant become the next super star in Nashville, I have been a fan of CMT for a long time but after tonight episode of the show next country star i dont know if i will be watching CMT anylonger.. WHAT YOU WANNA BET..Adrienna goes all the way..wonder why???
Clarkie I think you might need to watch the end of that episode a little closer. Trace Adkins did like Matt. He even said that someday he could see Matt opening for him, or he,Trace, could be opening for Matt. With that being said. I was very upset that Matt got sent over inside of Adrienna. She does have a great voice but she needs to try out for American Idol or something because she doesn't sing country. I'm hoping that Matt still ends up getting some kind of record deal because he is a great singer.
This episode was absolute b.s. I thought CMT was looking for the next superstar. Apparently NOT. Why are they judged on how much money they can pick up in Nashville. This has nothing to do with their talent and the show sucked! One of the best vocalists, Matt Dane was eliminated because Trace Adkins didn't think he hit the Ronnie Milsap note. WTF? This guy was the best vocalist from day one. The 2 chicks that he competed agaist were far weaker but come on...do we have to keep the black chick there so we are socially correct? Not only is she NOT good but she's NOT country and ugly to look at and listent to. What a joke this show has become. It's nothing like American Idol. At least the viewers get to vote. Trace Adkins is an ass and you could tell he didn't like Matt Dame. Probably because he's jealous because Matt D. could sing Trace Ugly Adkins under the rug! Sorry, this show turned into a suck fest. It's not about the public being able to vote.
very disappointing episode. We like to see music in a "music " competition. As the "judges" (sill not sure what qualifies any of them other than Trace Atkins to judge what good country music is) love to tell the contestants- find your identity, who are you? I don't think this show knows. 1. Is it American Idol giving unknowns a chance to hit the big time? 2. Is it Can You Duet with the kick ass band Sixwire? 3. Is it the Real World with all the contestants sharing the house? 4. Is it Amazing Race with the goofy challenges? 5. Is it the Apprentice with the idiot in the boardroom deciding who goes home? Episode one was very promising with great live music from some talented performers(one of which was dismiised last night by a guy who has produced one more country act than I have), but episode two was garbage. If this is what we're going to be subjected to on this show, please let me know now so I don't waste my time watching. CMT should probably remind themselves what the "M" in their name stands for. Is it music or MTV(where no music happens anymore)?
