My standard for an artist, song or video is when I get goosebumps....well, all are met with Matt Mason and especially Chasing Stardust!! He is SOMETHING ELSE and I am waiting with great anticipation to getting more and more of him!!

Just what Danielle said: The best 2 are in the finals.
The judges made the correct choice by sending Danielle home. Her video jumped from scene to scene and didn't really connect to the Lyrics of her beautifully sung song. Matt and Stevens' videos were parallel with their lyrics, which enabled the viewer emotionally connect with the singers.
Even though I was hoping to see Wynn in the final two I am still glad to see Matt has made it, He is country (traditional)..... His pass allows him to write meaningful muisc.... WAY TO MATT!!!!
I actually thought she sung well enough to stay in the top 2! :(
I hope to see Dani and Steven's videos soon...again, their videos were the best and I hope Matt is voted off next week as his voice is the weakest. I especially loved Dani's song to the military families and I hope they do a video with that one too!
Dani and Steven have the top two voices and they were in the sing offs...ridiculous...there videos were by far better...Matt's video didn't even make sense...he was high on a dead girl and spread out her ashes....weird...are we that morose that just because he comes off sad we like him? Not me...the biased judges wouldn't have been able to influence me...his voice was awful in that video. Were there more girls in that audience? That would be unfair to Dani too! Her video was sweet and it made no sense that the female judge didn't get that she was talking about being in love with a sweet boyfriend...you would have to be lame to not have gotten that and when she kept asking her it sounded like she wanted to bias the audience....I'm so disappointed.
I have known Danielle since she was a little girl and have followed her career through her Dad. I am so, so proud of what she has accomplished. She has the voice, the personality and the heart to be successful, and I wish her only the best. With admitted bias I do think she should have been in the final two. Danielle, you showed nothing but class in what you said at the end of show. May God bless you.

Danielle was totally robbed. It was a battle of the directors and she got a cruddy one. She will be fine though. I'll be buying her CD when it hits.

Can't seem to respond to your response. That's what I was telling a lot of people, my tastes are very eclectic. I always said Carrie was the best that ever came out that show. Now Scotty who is unbelieable at 17. Since James was knocked out in 4th position, I was really worried about Haley, as she was my pick. Since it was Scotty, I knew Lauren would end up being beside him. I wasn't as crazy about Lauren, because she was consistent, but she's young. It could have been James and Haley - but ya know I believe they will both have huge career and I'm not concerned about Scotty - he's totally made it in the shade. The minute country artists started appearing on the A.I. stage I knew Nashville, Capitol/Warner/Epic, etc. were all watching very closely. Since was the same producers that produced A.I. that were also behind CMT's, I couldn't figure what the purpose was. Good singers, but there have been some serious power houses out of A.I. If you remember a couple of years ago they tried with another country theme contest, which I watched. I can't remember if that's where Jason Aldene came from or not. But it seemed to only last a couple of seasons. It's pretty hard to top A.I. I'm glad there is a platform out there to give all types of musicians a shot. Thanks for responding. Good points! Scotty, for the most part, stayed true to his country roots even on a pop music show. I think that's why he won. Country fans are loyal to country singers.
I really liked Steven's song better as well as the video. All were really good. I think I must be in the minority in looking at posts below. I do hope that they all end up with good careers.....Although after watching Scotty win last Wednesday night - Not sure why there are more then one contestant program going. Of all the new country artists I've heard lately, sorry he takes the cake and is running with it.
Congrats to Matt and the guy with the faux-hawk. I've kind of lost interest in the finals now that Danielle has been eliminated. Danielle was the best singer in the group though I didn't particularly care for the songs she chose. Matt was the second best - he's got country pain. Matt should win unless the judges determine that the winner ought to be the best at cooking, dancing, coin collecting, or photography. Seriously, you pick the best country singer based on their ability to direct a video? I don't care who you are, that's lame.

I couldn't believe Steven Clawson never heard of Peter Zavadil. I love all videos he's made from "Born To Fly" to "Celebrity" to "Separate Ways" to "You're Gonna Miss This". Peter's a pro!
