They did not bash anyone except maybe Toby Keith and he earned it.Being a country music fan or artist should not mean that you must now move somewhere to the right of Adolph Hitler. She was against the war.So was most of the American public within a year.Did you throw out your Springsteen or Eagles or U2 records because they all opposed the war in Iraq too?How about Your Willie Nelson , Merle Haggard or Alison Krause Records? They too opposed it.
I have to wonder if those who were upset About what Natalie Maines said about the president 9 years ago are as respectful to our current president as they obviously think Natalie should have been then.I suspect for most that is a rousing no.000aWhat's even sadder is no one realized this was all planned by an angry Record company upset about having lost their lawsuit to the Dixie Chicks. They simply waited and got a few of their buddies at Clear Channel to start the boycott the Dixie Chick's thing .
I wonder if you have been as respectful to President Obama as you obviously think Miss Maines should have been to President Bush?
What mistake is that ,What about the one that they where getting letters that they where going to get killed bez of what they said I call that Bs and you need to back off
new music
We're not ready to make nice either, Maines.
-> To your comment about patriotism you should get your facts right… Maines said that she was patriotic and she did support the troops, but she did not support the war, and if you don’t believe me then watch the documentary “shut op and sing” because their you hear it from the horses mouth. And as fare as I se it she was right, their were no weapons of mass destruction and a lot of Americans died fore no reason.
-> They did not turn their backs on the C&W genre it was the other way around , C&W radio channels would not play their music and boycotted their music… to me, and to a lot of other people, they still do country music and so they have a right to be on CMT . continues ->
Maybe you see it that way, and you have your right to your opinion cause that is freedom of speech, the way I see it is that they used 3 years on defending themselves because people could not take a joke and it was taken out of context .. and it doesn’t even matter what they said they have a right to voice their opinion , as do you, and if they are not allowed to do so then you don’t have a democracy. And as fare as I know we do have freedom of speech and a democracy in America. continues ->
This group went on a three year bashing spree that included the C&W genre that originally made them A-list entertainers. They have no place on CMT or any C&W venue in my opinion. This isn't political, this is patriotism, and Maines said herself she was not a patriot. A shame she didn't stop the Grammys in 2006 to correct Joan Baez' claim when introducing them at the Grammys. If Maines had, you would all know the DC's real colors; whatever creates attention is fair game for these women, even if it belittles millions.
LOVE IT
This song is so much like me!
great vocals.....hot chics
I think that its time to forget its time to forgive and forget. even famous people make mistakes, there are no exceptions. if you accidentally let a comment slip, would you want to be trashed worldwide?
another great song from the dixie chicks!!!
I love this song more than any other by Dixie Chicks!
Remember this one???
