The more I listen to this song the more I like it!!!
I lu jypsi
We saw Jypsi open for Darius Rucker this past Saturday at the Palace Theatre in Albany NY. They were terrible. The group as a whole did not look comfortable on stage which made for a poor show and their music was just plain bad. The only songs I even came close to enjoying were covers. Country or not if you happen to be going to a show they are opening do yourself a favor and go late.
I could talk about Jypsi for hours and I tell people all the time when they're going to Nashville to wander down Broadway to Lala's to see Jypsi. The first time I saw what is now the group Jypsi, Frank was wearing a Porter Waggoner type outfit, flashy and everything and his sisters were wearing fancy "country" clothes too. Frank may have been 4' 11" at the time, so I'm guessing about 9 or 10. They were so young that their father had to drive them to Clarksville, TN to the Tennessee Fiddlers Championships, which held each year at the end of March, if you're in the area come see this spectacular competition. Anyway, they called themselves The Carter Family and with all the bluegrass bands in the competition, they beat them all out. Then they called themselves Silk and Saddle and have progressed to Jypsi. One post mentioned they sat for 4 hours at Lala's and watched Jypsi. Well, everytime I go to Nashville, which isn't often enough(I live 65 miles from Nashville but my wife thinks that's too far for me to travel too, but that's a whole nother story.). I am one of the first ones that consider himself a Jypsi groupee. Granted, they are not your Merle Haggard, George Jones, Kitty Wells, and Lorretta Lynn type of country, but unlike some on the radio who made their money in other Genres and then woke up one morning and decided to make a country album and are played on country radio, ie. Darius Rucker, Jessica Simpson, etc. Jypsi has always been and will always be country/bludgrass artists. Oh, by the way I LOVE THIS VIDEO AND GO JYPSI!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love this video!!! I am 62 years old and I think Jypsi is great. This song along with " I Don't Love You Like That" are fantastic. I hope we here more from them, they are like a breath air.
Yeah this may not be tradional country but what is. Country music blends the line between genres. Its a song about a song that makes you think about nothing and puts you in a hase. Its an amazing feeling.
I like it. I know people may think they aren't country, but this is a cool song and a fun video. ^_^
Whatever "Country" it belongs to, it's nowhere near Nashville. You don't define what country is all about, you live it and know it! Somethings you're just born with, others you will never learn. Constitute is more of a legal term. Country Music comes from the heart and soul! Feel the beat?
It's about driving fast and anonymous infatuation - it must be country. I am not at all sure what country music is suppossed to be. When folks ask me I tell them that if you can understand the words it's country. It does seem to me that country is growing up (at least it got rid of the twang) and out (almost every major artist moves accross genres. Does this song belong here? Why not? Someone says it is a cross between bluegrass and country - maybe it is. You know what would be cool - how about somebody clearly define what constitutes country.
I am not a big fan..it isn't country and what's with "Mr. Officer"? Really I am sure there are other things to write about?
The people posting that this group isn't country have been listening to taylor swift and miley cyrus too long and have forgotten what country is!!!!! Jypsi is a wonderful blend of country and bluegrass music. And yes they dress and act a little different but isn't that a breath of fresh air!!!! Not everyone has to wear a cowboy hat to be "country". I have seen them play for 4 hours many times at Layla's Bluegrass Inn in Nashville and their sound and talent is amazing!!! I wish them much success!! Download some of their music and you will love their music too!!!
One of the most talented bands in country music today! As for some of the comments below like "an embarrassment to country music " are you kidding me??? If you've ever seen or heard this band live it would blow you mind! I saw them for the first time in Nashville last December 2008 and have been a fan ever since, they are pure country but totally updated!! Amazing musicians and really fan friendly. Listen to their last CD, it turned my country music hating son into a country music fan!! Congrats Jypsi, we're pulling for you! Tami www.thecouncilmenband.com
The first time I heard this song, I was with my mom and twelve year old daughter. We had just arrived at my mother's home with Sonic for dinner and had made ourselves comfy in the game room with mom, when this video came on. I was busy with the ketchup, not paying attention, until I actually heard what the song was saying!!! LoL! I looked up and both my mom and daughter had eyes glued on me with smiles ten feet wide! Before they could say a word, I laughed and exclaimed, in awe, "They wrote this song about me!" (There's a REALLY, REALLY, REALLY Long Story behind all of our laughs that night!:) I LOVE the SONG and this Band's SOUND! It's Definitely Different and gives Country Music a NEW Twist!
This band is AWESOME, MIND BLOWING talent level. I just saw the video and it was cool and creative with a real catchy song. I have seen this group perform they are incredible. Masterful on their instruments and unique family harmony. The music speaks for itself. I read a couple of comments about not country enough blah ,blah blah and did I mention blah. Everyone doesn't have to stand in front of a barn and wear cowboy hats to be country artists and these folks are artists. The LA times music editor gave them a review that most entertainers would love to boast calling them the most jaw dropping country act to come to LA in 2008, oh well what would he know...lol. .Check them out and form your own opinion. Their live show is smile producing........These are down to earth young artists that will find a home with us country music fans. I look forward to more great music from deep in the hearts of the Jypsi's !!!
OK, I know there is a blur these days between country, rock and pop, but this isn't even close to being country. Just because there is a fiddle in the song doesn't make it country. I saw this video on GAC this morning and I kept thinking I had the t.v. on VH1. It's not that I don't like the video, but I don't think I want to watch it when I'm watching country music t.v..
I love the song and video!! Jypsi has a lot of talent and energy. Listen to all their music - you'll be hooked!
This song is an embarrassment to country music the group isn't any better than the song they don't even look country i'll be pissed off if they make it into country music try some other genre.
ehhhhhhhhhhh...........i don't know something just rubs me wrong about this song and video i mean i wouldn't go as far as to say that the song and group sucks, but I do agree that they just aren't right for country music at least main famous country now as far as non main stream country that's fine but they definetly aren't right for like major mainstream country and i usually don't mind country music today that doesn't sound like yesteryear
This video just plain sucks!!!!!!!!! Not country..................
Can't wait for this group to hit the big time. Great song and video.
