MG is us. Is me. Is American.
Now, having come from someone both from a small town and military, as well as Ms. Theresa on my thread (sorry it took so long) it makes a lot more sense to me.
It's about the Marine that was shot, his buddies got him out, running into the mouth of battle for a fellow American. Alot of the kids fighting come from little towns like mine. They were raised NOT TO LEAVE A FRIEND BEHIND> As well as being raised differently. That is just ONE S.E.A.L.S. opinion.
This is the song I want played at my funeral.
The battle scenes represent the soldiers fighting for our freedom...the freedom to be proud of where you come from.
This is just ridiculous. Back in 2008 when Kid Rock started doing those music commercials for the U.S. Army, it started a trend of music "artists" using their popularity or fame to show us that killing people who were born where you weren't born is OKAY. I question how that makes sense to anybody, or how that could at ALL tie into "Where I Come From" (I'm sure these white boys didn't come from the Middle East...), but since they didn't write or create this song, who cares.
Agreed. Maybe they grew up in the ghetto in Afghanistan? Doubt it. They're trying to "fit in" with a "patriotic" theme of killing people who weren't born where you were born, which is overly absurd in my mind! But that's just me. Nobody asked to be born where they were born. How can these people be so obtuse? I love country music, and I fail to see the connection, although Montgomery Gentry didn't even create/write this song! With Montgomery killing a bear in a fenced area, no longer am i a fan!
i have no clue
The song is wonderful, but WTH is with all this war and battlefield scenery? How does that fit the song? Maybe its just me, but come on. Someone explain this, cause I'm just to thick headed to get it
Another great song and video from Montgomery Gentry.
These guy are awesome I can't wait to see them Friday Night look out Kentucky
