Garth Brooks Reveals Sentimental Meaning Behind His (Very Long) Tattoo

“Having your three girls by your side the rest of your life ... (is) neat."

Garth Brooks has a long and winding string of country radio hits and now he has a long and winding tattoo to go along with it.

Brooks recently revealed on his Monday night Facebook live stream “Inside Studio G” that the tattoo he got to fulfill a deal with his youngest daughter Allie Colleen is a tribute to his loved ones.

“The design is all…ivy,” he said. “My mom was a green thumb…my oldest daughter’s a green thumb.”

The ivy tattoo snakes from the left side of his chest, back, and down his left arm. He said it “has the dates in my life of the people who have made me want to live this life.”  The names inked on his body include his wife, Trisha Yearwood, his mother and his daughters.

“Having your three girls by your side the rest of your life, it’s like – you know they’re going to be there anyway, but it’s pretty cool to have it in ink,” he said. “So…it’s neat.”

Another revelation came when Brooks said 2023 would be his busiest year yet.

“You know, you never try and hype anything because you want to be trusted when you speak,” Brooks said. “Tell you right now – this’ll be the busiest year of our career. The…busiest year…of our career. There are going to be so many things happening this year! So much stuff happening, coming this year. So 2023’s going to be extremely busy for us, and busy hopefully means we're having fun…because we have the most fun of anybody on the planet.”

Brooks plans to do some recording this year as well as open his bar on Lower Broadway in Nashville.

“The studio is going to be wide open this year, which means we’re going to go in and just do a lot of things that probably never will see the light of day,” he said. “But I’m going to be honest with you – those are my favorite sessions right there. We’ll figure out what works, what doesn’t work.”
