Steven Tyler and Carrie Underwood are throwing a huge Super Bowl party as they team up for CMT Crossroads: Steven Tyler and Carrie Underwood Live From Pepsi Super Bowl Fan Jam. The unique, one-hour special debuts on CMT on Saturday (Feb. 4) at 11 p.m. ET/PT.
During rehearsals in Indianapolis, Underwood told CMT Insider, "I'm excited about our opening. I don't want to give away too much."
"And I'm excited about a marriage of two songs that we put together, which is phenomenal," Tyler added.
Tyler and Underwood shared a dazzling performance at the ACM Awards last year, and of course, they have a common history with American Idol. (He's a judge, and she's a former champ.)
Asked if there were any surprises about working together, the Aerosmith star told CMT Insider, "That she has a real hard side, and she got to see my soft side."
"But I knew that was there! You're a sweet guy!" Underwood exclaimed.
"You know what? Nothing. More 'oh, my God' moments came out because we got to get under the hood of the songs," Tyler said.
Both musicians exude confidence onstage, and neither one seems to be nervous about the live show.
"Her band and her voice are so beautiful," Tyler remarked. "And these country players -- forget about it."
"They're good. He's good," Underwood simply stated.
And in agreement, Tyler replied, "They're good. We're so good."
