Elle King Reveals An Unreleased Track Named After Her Little Boy: “One Of My Favorites”

Elle King’s sentimental song “Lucky” will be featured on her country debut album, “Come Get Your Wife.”

Elle King is just weeks away from releasing her country debut album, “Come Get Your Wife.” On the heels of her collaboration “Tulsa” with Ashley McBryde and John Osborne, King teased another track fans can expect on the highly anticipated collection – “Lucky.”

The promising artist turned to social media late Thursday (Jan. 12) evening to share the heartwarming ballad inspired by her toddler, Lucky Levi Tooker. The post featured her little boy making a mess with a smash cake at his first birthday party. Halfway through the video, King gently shoves Lucky’s tiny face into the sweet treat –giving him an adorable frosting mustache.

“Getting excited for my album to drop, so I’m sharing some sneak peeks of the new music…here’s one of my favorites #Lucky❤️,” King wrote alongside the clip.

King co-wrote “Lucky” alongside Bobby Hamrick, Ella Langley, and Matt McKinney. The songstress counts her blessings within the vulnerable track. It is unclear if King touches upon her difficult pregnancy journey, which included two miscarriages. However, she clarifies that she’s “Lucky” for her miracle baby.

“There’s only one way to explain how I got here | I got lucky | Believe that’s something | For someone just like me,” sings King.

The guitar-soaked melody that displays King’s award-winning grit, will leave fans lost in their feelings or embracing every word. The small snippet has already pulled at heartstrings, as country fans flocked to the comments to praise the sentimental song.

“Omg.❤️❤️❤️❤️,” shared Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild. “I’m so excited for this one. Extra special and so beautiful,” said a listener. “Amazing. Your album is going to be a hit!!! All your songs are amazing. Way to go,” added another.

Before King welcomed her first child in March of 2021 with fiancé, Dan Tooker –  she opened up about her struggles with fertility.

“We are very excited to share the news that we are pregnant. This news comes with a great deal of fear, and I hope that all mothers-to-be, in whatever sense that may be, know that I am trying to be very sensitive,” King wrote on Instagram. “You see, this miracle baby comes after two very big losses. It’s a terrifying and extremely painful experience for everyone. But the sun always rises, and I never really let go to let the universe decide when I was ready. I remember every pregnancy announcement felt like a dagger to me. So I want to be very delicate and say to YOU! That soon-to-be mom, who’s maybe had a loss, or has been struggling with fertility, I’m telling you, our babies come,” she added.

The resilient singer said that she has changed since becoming a mother. King previously told E! News that parenthood has “softened” her.

“It has softened me,” she told the outlet. “Now I just want to go home and eat with the baby. Let’s watch a movie. I just showed him the original version of Robin Hood, and he loves it. It was one of my favorite movies as a kid. So, it’s beautiful. I love being a mom.”

King has not declared if “Lucky” would be available to stream before the album release date on Jan. 27. The Ross Copperman collection will include – “Drunk ( And I Don’t Want To Go Home)" with Miranda Lambert, “Worth A Shot” featuring Dierks Bentley, “Out Yonder,” and more. To support the album, the vocalist will embark her 30-city  A-Freakin-Men Tour. The run will kick off on Valentine’s Day in New Orleans, LA.
