Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie Share a Prize at 2014 CMT Music Awards

'CMT Artists of the Year' Special Leads to CMT Performance of the Year Win

In what has to be one of this year's most star-studded categories, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie earned a shiny new performance of the year belt buckle at the 2014 CMT Music Awards for their performance of "Oh No/All Night Long" on 2013's CMT Artists of the Year special.

The award at Wednesday night's (June 4) awards show was presented by CMT Crossroads veterans Keith Urban and Kacey Musgraves, the latter of whom makes her Crossroads debut with pop megastar Katy Perry on June 13.

Bryan, looking summery in a baby blue blazer, was all pearly whites as he accepted the award next to the legendary Richie.

"I'm speechless," he exclaimed. "I cannot believe I've had the opportunity to hang with this guy, to be in his presence, to watch him light up a room. He has that amazing ability, and the fact that I have won an award with [Richie] is just amazing, buddy. I can't say that enough."

Richie was just as excited to receive his first belt buckle.

"This is my first," Richie said of the CMT award. "It's quite an honor to be here. The fans are fantastic."

He was so pleased, in fact, he suggested that another collaboration may be in order soon.

"All I can say is if I'm having this much fun, let's do it again," he added.

Bryan opened the CMT Music Awards with Florida Georgia Line, Jason Derulo and ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons and Dusty Hill. He also performed his solo hit, "Play It Again," later in the show.
