Walker Hayes Teams Up With Flo Rida On Playlist Worthy Anthem, "High Heels"

Walker Hayes will be honored at CMT Artist of The Year on Friday, Oct. 14, at 9P/8C on CMT.

The duo we never knew we needed – Walker Hayes and Flo Rida

Just days before Hayes appears at CMT Artist of The Year, he joined forces with the world-renowned rapper to release "High Heels." The country hitmaker turned TikTok sensation penned the upbeat banger alongside Daniel Majic, Meron Mengist, Fraser Churchill, Sean Davidson, Dre Davidson, and Breyan Isaac

Although the mid-tempo track has a whistle-while-you work melody, it's the thought-provoking message that pushed Flo Rida to jump on "High Heels." The razor-sharp lyrics convey the struggles several musicians face throughout their often-lonely careers. While blending their infectious vocals, they also stress the importance of finding happiness in the simple things in life.

"I wake up like a billion dollars in the morning | I pick and choose from twenty cars on Mr. Foreigns | I'll take my whisky neat to hide my mixed emotions | And they don't got a clue," sings Flo Rida. "My life is like parties over sleep | Monkey in the middle of my money and my dreams | My life is like high heels on the beach | Perfect on the surface, but I'm sinkin' underneath | You know my life is like."

While recording the breezy bop, the "My House" singer knew Hayes would bring the vulnerable narrative to new heights. If country music fans listen carefully, they will hear Hayes effortlessly join in on the second verse - where he touches upon his roller-coaster-like emotions and life since his breakout single "Fancy Like." As the father of six tackles his spit-fire feature, he adds an undeniable honky tonk flair.

"You know my life is like | Giddy up, giddy up, family daddy | Almost got that Grammy |  But I guess they don't do fancy like me, but I'm cool with it |  I got low miles on my Prius | Rollin' down the row with Jesus," he sings displaying is signature country-pop pipes. "And my food at Applebee's is for free | I got this light, and I'm lit like flash | Oh god, I'm blessed | I do my best, I do 'cause I got so much I could lose and they don't got a clue."

The optimistic single peaked at No.5 on iTunes 100  Music Chart upon release. The Monarch and Majic produced hit ranked below Beyoncé's track "Cuff It" and above "Left And Right" by Charlie Puth. The platinum-selling artist turned to social media to celebrate the achievement and to encourage his devoted community to push "High Heels" to the top.

"CONGRATS THANKS TO ALL OF OUR FANS WORLDWIDE LETS TAKE IT TO NUMBER 1 BRAND NEW HIGH HEELS FEATURING  @WalkerHayes," Flo Rida wrote in the caption.

Music enthusiasts flocked to the comments to praise "High Heels" and to acknowledge the catchy chorus.

"Song is dope!! Very catchy," said a follower. "Most underrated artist ever. You're a champ @official_flo another track 🔥," added another. "We can't stop listening to it!!!" shared a Walker Hayes fan account.

"High Heels" serves as Hayes' latest release and comes on the heels of "Jesus Fault," a faith-centric song with Christian artist Zach Williams. The hitmaker has already incorporated the party-worthy song into his live set lists. Hayes is currently on his headlining Glad You're Here Tour, which will run until Dec. 31.
