CMT Roundup: New Music From Priscilla Block, Kenny Chesney, Gabby Barrett and more
It's the Friday following the CMA Awards, and while much of the country music industry is still gasping to catch its breath on the heels of what might be the year's busiest week in the business, the music isn't slowing down. Artists including Kenny Chesney, Gabby Barrett, Chris Stapleton, Priscilla Block and more just shared new songs. To hear these and more, check out CMT's The Roundup playlist.
Kenny Chesney, “Take Her Home”: "This song is everything life is made of in less than four minutes. It’s true, honest and all the stuff that’s easy to forget."
Priscilla Block, "Hey, Jack": "This release is something that we’ve worked really hard on," Block said. "From writing the song to filming the video, to having my red carpet looks mimic different scenes from the video. It’s been such a creative time for me. This is the start of a new era, and I couldn’t be more excited about it!"
Gabby Barrett, "‘Growin’ Up Raising You’": “‘Growin’ Up Raising You’ is a very sensitive song for me,” Barrett said. “I’m only 23 – I don’t have all the answers to everything, and I haven’t gotten everything figured out. I’m doing the best that I can while trying to raise other people to be the best people they can be. I feel so blessed to be able to have three little lives that I can help to flourish while I’m also trying to figure out life myself.”
Alana Springsteen, "Christmas Comes in Waves": “Having grown up on the coast, all my favorite holidays were spent with family by the water. I’m a beach baby through and through, and I can’t think of a more restful, festive way to spend Christmas than in the sand,” shares Springsteen. “I’ve been wanting to write an original Christmas song for a long time and finally made it happen with Trannie Anderson and Dallas Wilson. This one’s for everyone who feels a little more at home when they’re somewhere warm this time of year.”
Kolby Cooper, "Running Away": "When we finished writing ‘Running Away,’ I felt that I had written my favorite song, and I still feel that way today,” Cooper said. “This song is about a world where my wife and I never actually got together and the constant struggle of trying to convince her that it’s meant to be and that it will all work out."
The Castellows, “Hurricane”: This song means so much to us and it’s one of the first songs we ever played together as a group," The Castellows said. "It is one of our favorite songs of all time, and we’re so happy to have our version of it out in the world. We want to thank Levon Helm for bringing Hurricane into the world and also The Band of Heathens for doing an amazing cover of it that brought so many people to it!🥰"
