Jimmie Allen, Elle King, And Rachel Smith Tapped To Host “New Year’s Eve Live”

Nashville's NYE celebration will include nearly 50 performances by some of country music’s hottest stars – check out the lineup!

Music City will be ringing in 2023 with a bang!

Platinum-selling artists Jimmie Allen, Elle King, and Entertainment Tonight’s Rachel Smith are slated to host New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash on CBS.

The second annual celebration will take place on December 31 and will include a star-studded lineup. The segment will feature nearly 50 must-see performances by some of country music’s biggest stars, including Kelsea Ballerini, Little Big Town, Zac Brown Band, Brooks & Dunn, and more. According to CBS, additional acts will be announced at a later date.

The five-hour-long broadcast will cross multiple time zones and participate in the world-renowned music note drop at midnight CT with fireworks.

The “Freedom Was A Highway” singer said that the opportunity to host was a no-brainer and that he’s already “looking forward” to the music-oriented night. This is not Allen’s first rodeo stepping in as host, as he tackled the 2022 ACM Awards alongside country icon Dolly Parton and Gabby Barrett. Most recently, the country crooner helped announce (Nov.15) the 2023 GRAMMY Award nominations.

Allen was one of many musicians that performed during last year’s high-energy special.

“When I got the call to host New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash, I was super excited and started looking forward to it right then,” said Allen in a recent press release. “I was part of the show last year as a performer, so being able to co-host it this year with Elle King and Rachel Smith and see all the great performances that are lined up – it’s going to be awesome. Hosting is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time, and to do it on CBS is a big deal. I get to represent not only Nashville and country music but my home state of Delaware – primetime television on New Year’s Eve! Let’s bring this new year in right!”

King is equally as excited to host. The cross-over artist believes the title serves as a thank you to the genre that welcomed her with open arms.

Although King has graced the top of Billboard’s Country Airplay chart with hitmaker Miranda Lambert and toured with Chris Stapleton, she’s gearing up to release her debut country album “Come Get Your Wife” in January.

“New Year’s Eve has always been one of my favorite nights to celebrate because we get to reflect on the year we’ve had while getting a fresh start,” declared the country rocker. “Nashville has been so amazing and welcoming to me this year, and I can’t wait to see what next year brings. I am so excited to be hosting the festivities live from Music City!”

This will be Smith’s second year hosting the memorable affair. The Nashville native is eager to rub elbows with notable talent again in the industry and continue the festive tradition.

“This hometown gal is thrilled to be back for round two,” shared the TV personality. “Hanging with my talented country friends in Music City on New Year’s Eve is the ultimate way to kick off the new year!”

The celebration will be available to live stream and on Paramount+.
