The Chainsmokers Recruit Florida Georgia Line for New Album

Country and Pop Duos Collide for "Last Day Alive"

When Florida Georgia Line tweeted on Tuesday (March 14), "Surprise surprise. New music coming soon with @TheChainsmokers #LastDayAlive," was anyone actually surprised?

I know I wasn't.

Because if you scroll back into their singles history, it's obvious that Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard love a good collaboration. They've featured country singers like Tim McGraw, Luke Bryan and Jake Owen on their singles. And even a handful of artists from outside of country, like the Backstreet Boys, Nelly and Ziggy Marley.

So I have a feeling when Drew Taggart and Alex Pall -- the men who are the Kelley and Hubbard of the pop/EDM/DJ world -- called with the offer to put all of their vocals together for "Last Day Alive," Florida Georgia Line had to say yes.

The Chainsmokers last massive No. 1 hit "Closer" featured pop singer Halsey, and their new single "Something Just Like This" features Coldplay.

"Last Day Alive" will be on their Memories...Do Not Open album due out in April.
