Charlie Daniels is recovering at a Nashville-area hospital after having a pacemaker implanted on Thursday (March 28). According to a statement on his website, he was diagnosed with a mild case of pneumonia during a visit to his doctor earlier this week. Admitted to the hospital, a series of routine tests revealed that a pacemaker was needed to regulate his heart rate. Daniels, 76, has canceled a Sunday appearance in Murfreesboro, Tenn., and will reschedule two other shows originally booked for April 4-5 in New Jersey and Ohio. He plans to be released from the hospital and spend time recuperating at home before resuming his tour schedule on April 11 in Lynchburg, Va. "I just had not been feeling well and wanted to get checked out," Daniels said. "I am thankful the doctors found the problem and were able to implant a pacemaker to get my heart rate regulated. I am feeling so much better and looking forward to spending Easter with my family."
