Garth Brooks will release his highly anticipated 11th studio album Gunslinger on Nov. 25. The Country Music Hall of Famer revealed the album cover live on Facebook on Monday (Oct. 17).
The album title came to him in an interview with The Tennessean when conversation turned to what he liked most about being on the road.
“I said, ‘It just feels good to be out there being a gunslinger again,’” Brooks said. “Just aiming with the heart and shooting from the hip, that's what you do on the stage, right? And, lucky enough, you've got the ammo of 'Friends in Low Places,' 'Callin' Baton Rouge,' 'Shameless' and you do. You’re a gunslinger out there. And each show’s different and you just shoot from the hip all night long.' As soon I said it, I knew that was the album title right there."
The full length collection will include his newest single “Baby, Let’s Lay Down And Dance,” which debuted at No. 19 this week on Billboard’s country airplay chart.
Gunslinger will also be included in his 10-disc box set Garth Brooks: The Ultimate Collection, which will be available exclusively at Target on Nov. 11. His collaborative holiday album with wife Trisha Yearwood, Christmas Together, also lands Nov. 11.
Brooks and Yearwood will cover a medley of country classics on the 50th annual CMA Awards, airing live from Nashville on Nov. 2 on ABC. He is nominated for the night’s top honor of entertainer of the year.
The Garth Brooks World Tour with Trisha Yearwood continues Friday (Oct. 21) with a three-night stand in Charleston, West Virginia.
