Foxworthy Returns as Host of '2006 CMT Music Awards'

Awards Show Airs Live April 10 on CMT

Jeff Foxworthy will return to host the 2006 CMT Music Awards airing live April 10 on CMT. During his first year as host, Foxworthy arrived onstage at the 2005 awards show by swinging in on a crystal chandelier similar to the one used by Shania Twain in her "Party for Two" video.

Foxworthy is the largest-selling comedy recording artist in history, a multiple Grammy Award nominee and best-selling author of more than 15 books. He stars in and serves as executive producer for Blue Collar TV, a television series that followed the success of Blue Collar Comedy Tour, The Movie and a concert tour of the same name. Blue Collar Comedy Tour Rides Again, the sequel to the first film, has sold more than 3 million copies since its release two years ago..

"I think CMT and I are a perfect fit," Foxworthy says about his hosting duties. "I'm country, I like music and I own a TV."

Last year's CMT Music Awards show became the highest-rated and most-watched telecast in CMT's history.

"Jeff's just a natural," notes CMT executive vice president and general manager Brian Philips. "He never misses. CMT's stars love working with him. We're thrilled to have him back at center stage after last year's record ratings."

Performers and presenters for the awards show have not been announced. Last year's show featured live performances by Kenny Chesney, Alan Jackson, Toby Keith, Reba McEntire, Brad Paisley, Big & Rich, Keith Urban and Gretchen Wilson.
