OFFSTAGE: 'Nashville' Daughters Go Back to School

(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that's happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)

Tip No. 1: "Put your instruments down. It's time for school." That's what Lennon and Maisy Stella, who play Maddie and Daphne Conrad on ABC's Nashville, hear from their real-life mom in the morning before school.

Tip No. 2: "We're super busy, but we try to eat healthy," Lennon told People magazine, with her sister adding they like to have tuna sandwiches for lunch.

And tip No. 3: No cottage cheese for Maisy and no lima beans for Lennon.

Other than getting ready for public school in Nashville, the Stellas are already ready for season two of the show. Neither girl has had any kind of professional music lesson. In fact, they taught themselves "Call Your Girlfriend," based on Erato's cover of the Robyn song, for a school talent show. Using empty plastic cups and hand-clapping as their only percussion, the girls' video made them Internet sensations and then ultimately, stars were born.
