The 'Nashville' 'O.C.' Connection

"This Is How It's Done In Tennessee"

Earlier this week, the Internet exploded when Rachel Bilson posted a photo with Chris Carmack from the set of Nashville.

Bilson's caption read: "Welcome to Nashville B****......this is how it's done in Tennessee."

Fans of the mega-popular early-2000s drama The O.C. immediately recognized the reference. In the show's pilot episode, Carmack's character Luke Ward said something very similar to Ben McKenzie's character Ryan Atwood, right after punching him in the face.

Luke followed up his initial greeting with, "This is how it's done in Orange County."

Bilson's O.C. persona Summer Roberts would eventually marry Adam Brody's character Seth Cohen, who Ryan was defending when Luke punched him, making this reunion and her caption all the more perfect.

We've been anxiously awaiting the moment Summer and Luke would meet again ever since Bilson announced she would be joining the Nashville cast the night of the show's mid-season finale (March 9).

We don't know much about what role Bilson will play in the second half of Nashville's fifth season, but we can say we are very excited to see these two sharing a screen once again.

Trivia Tuesday: Which O.C. couple dated for 2 years in real life?

Although this time around, Carmack's character Will Lexington has more musical chops than Luke Ward ever did.

And we can't wait to see what Bilson's character brings to the table!
