Hear country music’s new songs of the week on CMT’s Roundup playlist.

Cole Swindell, “3 Feet Tall”: “I can’t believe the first song from album five is finally out,” Swindell said. “Songs like these are while I fell in love with country music in the first place. For all of you out there that have lived (through divorce) in any way, I’m here for you. I’ve been there, too. Music is so powerful, and I feel like this song is just special. I hope it hits a few of you out there like it does me.”

Luke Grimes, “Clay Pigeons”: “In my opinion, Blaze Foley is one of the more underrated singer-songwriters in the history books of country music,” said Grimes. “He truly was outlaw country in every sense, and he practiced what he preached. ‘Clay Pigeons’ is not only my favorite song from Blaze, but one of my favorite songs of all time. The structure, melody, and lyrics are all so simple, yet they come together to say something so profound. The songwriting is masterful. There has always been something so comforting to me about the melancholy feel of this song.”

Chayce Beckham, “This Ol’ Rodeo”: “‘This Ol’ Rodeo’ is a song I’m excited to have out,” Beckham said. “It’s inspired by a close friend of mine. This one’s for all the cowboys and cowgirls out there, literally and figuratively. This song is about taking on something that might be a little bit wilder than you, trying to hang on, and loving it through the wins and losses whether it loves you back or not.”

Taylor Swift, “You’re Losing Me (From The Vault)”: “I just wanted to say to anyone who listened to my music this year, anywhere in the world, thank you,” Swift wrote of the song on Instagram. “Getting named Spotify’s Global Top Artist in 2023 is truly the best birthday/holiday gift you could’ve given me. We’ve seriously had THE MOST fun this year out there on tour and now this. Are you serious? So I was trying to think of a way to thank you, and a lot of you have been asking me to put ‘You’re Losing Me (From The Vault)’ on streaming... so here you go! You can finally listen EVERYWHERE now 💋.”

Cody Jinks, “Sober Thing”: “I wrote ‘Sober Thing’ right after we finished the ‘Mercy’ album,” Jinks said. “I was giving up a 20+ year affair with whiskey, and every word of that song is true. I don’t remember writing some of my biggest songs, but I damn sure remember writing that one.”

Alisan Porter, “Meant for Me”: “‘Meant for Me’ is about your person,” Porter said. “It’s about weathering storms and persevering. It’s about the good even when it’s bad.”

Trey Lewis, "Mine Never Could": "I had this song on hold for almost three years, waiting for the right time to put it out. It’s a song that everyone can relate to,” Lewis said. “We all have the one who got away, and this is a universal experience. I realized this song was too good to hold back and the timing is right to put it out, regardless of how I feel about an ex in a relationship.”
