With three nominations each, Carrie Underwood, Chris Stapleton and Cam top the list of nominees for the 2016 CMT Music Awards. The announcements were made Monday morning (May 9) beginning with Thomas Rhett's appearance on NBC's Today.

All three are nominated for video of the year in a category that also includes Blake Shelton, Florida Georgia Line, Jason Aldean, Keith Urban, Little Big Town, Luke Bryan, Sam Hunt, Thomas Rhett and Tim McGraw.

Fan voting began Monday at CMT.com and continues until June 6 at 12:01 a.m. ET. On June 1, CMT will announce a brand-new surprise awards category.

The 2016 CMT Music Awards will air live June 8 at 8 p.m. ET/PT. In the coming weeks, CMT will reveal this year’s host, performers, presenters and more.
