This must be the yin and yang of a divorce: one minute you're pouring whiskey, and the next, you're moving on.
In the January issue of Cosmopolitan, Miranda Lambert opens up about the emotional roller coaster she's on since her marriage to Blake Shelton recently ended in divorce. She doesn't go into any sordid details over who did what or who said what or how the country couple wound up on the other side of things, but she does admit that she's been feeling all the feels.
"I just want to live a life full of everything. Some of that might mean nights on my porch crying, drinking whiskey, and going, 'Man this sucks right now,'" Lambert said.
"I don't necessarily want to know that I have really bad, long, lonely nights ahead of me, but I have had some, and I still have a bunch ahead of me," she added. "But it's about living in the moment and feeling every tinge of pain*, then waking up the next day and going, 'All right, I'm going to ride my ponies. I'm going to have a girls' night.' That's where I am. That's where I'm gonna live."
* As we all well know, Lambert has the ability to turn every tinge of that pain into some kind of country song on her next album.
