Zac Brown Band, Parmalee Release New Music

A New 'Nashville' Soundtrack Also Arrives

The Zac Brown Band brings a Foo Fighter into the fold, Parmalee break out of Carolina and the stars of ABC's Nashville sing for their supper as new albums arrive Tuesday (Dec. 10).

With The Grohl Sessions Vol. 1, the Zac Brown Band teamed up with Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl as producer and musical inspiration. The respected rock star is accustomed to side projects and collaborations, but this is his first real foray into country music.

"Dave is a musical genius," Brown says. "It's been amazing to play with him onstage and get to spend time working with him in the studio. We are excited for fans to hear the music we've been able to create together."

Grohl joined the band to perform "Day for the Dead" at the 2013 CMA Awards and contributes his drumming to the record, as well. Eric Church is credited as a co-writer on "All Alright."

Fresh-faced country group Parmalee have risen to No. 3 on Billboard's country songs chart with "Carolina," and now they're releasing their debut album Feels Like Carolina.

The band of two brothers, a cousin and a best friend all hail from North Carolina and took their name from the small town where they used to rehearse. In 2010, they were involved in an armed robbery attempt which resulted in drummer Scott Thomas being shot three times. He was in a coma for 10 days but fought his way to recovery.

"Every experience of the last few years -- both positive and negative -- has helped to mold the songs on Feels Like Carolina, from traveling the country and meeting our fans to surviving a near-fatal armed robbery," vocalist Matt Thomas says. "The truth is nothing can keep us from pursuing this dream because we were raised to always 'keep on pluggin' ... and that's just what we do."

On The Music of Nashville: Original Soundtrack Season 2, Volume 1, executive music producer Buddy Miller collects 13 tracks from the show sung by cast members Connie Britton, Hayden Panettiere, Charles Esten, Jonathan Jackson, Clare Bowen, Sam Palladio, Chris Carmack, Lennon and Maisy Stella, Aubrey Peeples, Chaley Rose and Will Chase. An exclusive version of the album available at Target will include four bonus tracks.

Also arriving Tuesday is the debut album from country singer Krystal Keith (Toby Keith's daughter), Whiskey & Lace and Shelby Lynne's gospel-influenced EP, Thanks.
