Breakout Artist Priscilla Block Reveals What Everyone Should Leave In 2022: “Let Go”

Priscilla Block will open for country icon Shania Twain in the new year.

Country music breakout star Priscilla Block wants fans to crush unrealistic societal norms in 2023.

The promising new artist, known for body positivity and empowering anthems, turned to social media Monday (Dec 27) evening to share an eye-opening message with her devoted community of over 1.7M followers.

While making a cup of coffee, Block sparks a conversation around bad habits. She encouraged listeners to leave their unhealthy mindset in 2022.

“This is the time of the year to let go of the things that don’t serve you,” Block wrote alongside the video. “Whether it’s clothes that don’t fit…bad habits… one-sided friendships, or a toxic relationship. Let it go,” she stressed.

The North Carolina native continued to push her fans to do something fulfilling in the new year or an activity that makes them feel free.

“Whether it’s…a clean house, family time, live concerts, time with your dogs, laughing with friends,” Block explained. “Don’t go into 2023 with shit you don’t need,” she added.

Block kick-started a positive chain reaction, as fans flocked to the comments to share their resolutions and what they want to leave behind.

“Dropping toxic relationships and learning to love myself!” said a follower. “Anything that doesn’t bring me peace in my life,” shared another. “Leaving behind all the bad thoughts and insecurities that I am not enough.”

The clip, which raked in 73.3K views, was backed by her breakup ballad “Like A Boy.” The keyboard-soaked track displays her contagious country-pop sound and fearless vulnerability. The promising artist co-wrote the song alongside Sarah Jones and Emily Kroll. “Like A Boy” is not your typical heartbreak anthem, as they pulled from real-life advice Block received from her father about ending an unhealthy relationship.

“Ain’t it just like you | To give up way too soon | It’s just what you do | You take off | Without a damn thing to say,” she sings the emotional-driven chorus. “Ain’t it like a boy to talk away | Ain’t it just like to buy something new | Instead of fixing what you had | Like that ’88 Chevrolet | Passed down from your granddad.”

“Like A Boy” lives on Block’s critically acclaimed label debut album, “Welcome To The Block Party.” The 12-song tracklist includes a handful of fan favorites such as – “My Bar,” “Peaked I High School,” “Thick Thighs,” “Ever Since You left,” and more.

The undeniable songstress with a bright future ahead in country music had a whirlwind of a year. Block received her first CMT Award nomination, was in the running for New Female Artist of the Year at the 2022 ACM Awards, wrapped a nationwide headlining tour, and went platinum with viral single “Just About Over You.”

“Finding out ‘Just About Over You’ had gone PLATINUM! Are you kidding me?!” said Block following the achievement. “Since the beginning, the fans have been behind me and so encouraging – it means the world to me, and I feel so blessed.”

The career-altering news follows her collaboration with Justin Moore, “You, Me, And Whiskey.”  The TikTok star turned country mainstay is slated to open for country legend Shania Twain on her upcoming Queen of Me Tour and join the star-studded lineup at Two Step In Festival in Georgetown, TX.
