'CMT Artists of the Year' Honorees Share Successes in 2015

Sixth Annual Special Airs Wednesday (Dec. 2) at 8 p.m. ET/PT

The year may be winding down, but activity in downtown Nashville is moving forward at a rapid pace as final preparations are made for the 2015 CMT Artists of the Year special airing live Wednesday (Dec. 2) at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

The celebration at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center honors Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, Sam Hunt, Little Big Town and Blake Shelton, who have collectively dominated the last 12 months by ruling CMT’s platforms and country radio, scoring chart-topping album and singles and selling out arenas across the nation.

Country legend Kenny Rogers will receive the prestigious Artist of a Lifetime Award, and Chris Stapleton will perform live and receive the first-ever CMT Artists of the Year Breakout Award. The cast of ABC's Nashville will receive the inaugural International Impact Award.

The evening will feature toasts and musical tributes from friends and admirers including Dolly Parton, Adam Lambert and Leona Lewis, Darius Rucker

Cassadee Pope, RaeLynn, Trace Adkins, Kellie Pickler, Lady Antebellum's Hillary Scott and veteran newsman Dan Rather, among others.
