Vince Gill Chooses New Orleans School for New Playground

Vince Gill will be in New Orleans on Sept. 25 to join volunteers from The Home Depot and the surrounding community to construct a new playground at the relocated campus of the International School of Louisiana. The playground is being built in honor of Gill as part of a national program promoted by KaBOOM!, a nonprofit organization that brings communities and businesses together to construct playgrounds, skate parks, sports fields and ice rinks throughout North America. As the 2006 recipient of the Academy of Country Music/The Home Depot Humanitarian Award, Gill personally selected the school for the playbround. "Given the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina, it is an obvious need for the community," Gill said.
