Did Scotty McCreery Turn Down 'Dancing With the Stars'?

I Guess He Just Wasn't "Feelin' It"

There will be no tango or waltz from Scotty McCreery, y’all ... at least not on national television.

The American Idol champ-turned country star apparently turned down multiple offers to be on the hit ABC show Dancing With the Stars.

Dancing With the Stars has called me a couple of times, and I’ve just respectfully declined,” the singer told CMT’s Cody Alan during a recent interview for After Midnite.

What?! Scotty! Is it because you’re too busy with college? Or with recording and touring?

I can’t imagine this decision having anything to do with his ability to move on a dance floor. Surely he’s got rhythm and moves.

According to the singer, he doesn’t ...

“Nobody wants to see that on their TV,” he joked. “It’s just one of those things.”

I have to say, I’m a little disappointed. Look how great things turned out for McCreery’s fellow American Idol alum Kellie Pickler. The country star took home the mirror ball trophy back in 2013.

Season 21 of the show premiered this week, with no one from the country-music world among the cast members that include Backstreet Boy Nick Carter, music icon Chaka Khan, southern chef Paula Deen, Real Housewives of Atlanta alum Kim Zolciak Biermann and teenage wildlife conservationist Bindi Irwin, daughter of the late Steve Irwin.
