Hillary Scott Shares Personal Story in "Thy Will"

Song From Her Solo Album Written Following Miscarriage

Even though Lady Antebellum is still very much together -- the trio performed Friday (June 17) in Chicago and have 16 dates on their summer tour -- the group's Hillary Scott is on the verge of releasing her solo album.

But on Monday, she took a break from all of the music and sat down with Good Morning America and revealed she'd had a miscarriage last fall.

"Goodness gracious," she says after saying it aloud for the first time in an interview. "There's this pressure that you're just supposed to be able to snap your fingers and continue to walk through life like it never happened."

Scott and her husband Chris Tyrell have a 2-year-old daughter, Eisele Kaye. Following last year's miscarriage, she wrote her first single "Thy Will" after experiencing everything that comes during such an emotional time.

The Love Remains album that Scott made with her family will be out on July 29. In addition to "Thy Will," there are 12 other faith-based songs, like the hymns she grew up singing in church, plus some new songs and other material made popular by other artists.

"The process of making this album has been not only creatively inspiring, but I’ve also really been able to grow as a person," Scott said. "We’ve had this intense concentrated amount of time as a family together, which has been so special. With all that we’ve gone through together -- the highs, the lows -- to be able to process all of that together, to heal together, to grieve together, to laugh, to cry, all of those things ... it’s just been such a continuation of solidifying the strong foundation that we have in our family."
