Writer Returns to Work on Brooks’ 'The Lamb'
Producers of The Lamb -- a film about Garth Brooks’ fictional rock star character Chris Gaines -- hope to turn in the script to Paramount Pictures by the end of the summer. Screenwriter Jeb Stuart (Die Hard, The Fugitive) is back on the job after taking time off to be with his terminally ill wife, says co-producer Lisa Sanderson of Red Strokes Entertainment (Brooks’ Los Angeles production company). Stuart’s wife died after a two-year illness. If the film is made, Brooks will craft the soundtrack with Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds, who is also co-producer of the film. Whether Brooks will portray Chris Gaines or any other character in the movie is still up in the air, Sanderson tells CMT.com. Brooks has been “very instrumental” in the storyline and has even written part of the script, Sanderson says. “We’re focusing on the script right now,” she explains, “and we’ll decide casting later based on whatever is best for the story.” 05/03/02
